Dentrino Reveal publishes two tiers: a free plan with whitening-only simulations capped at 10 per month, and a $100/month plan with all three simulation modes (whitening, orthodontic, cosmetic) and 100 simulations per month. New users get a 14-day free trial.
SmileFrame charges $5 per simulation. No monthly fee, no quota, and credits don't expire.
The math has a clean crossover: 20 simulations a month. Run fewer than 20, and pay-per-use is cheaper — at 10 cosmetic sims a month you'd pay SmileFrame $50 versus Dentrino's $100. Run consistently more, and Dentrino's quota wins on per-simulation cost — at a full 100 sims a month you're paying them $1 each. Most practices doing cosmetic consultations sit well under 20 a month, but a high-volume whitening operation could genuinely come out ahead on Dentrino.

Platform: Web vs iOS-Only
Dentrino Reveal is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad, licensed for up to three devices. If your operatories run Android tablets or you want front-desk staff on a desktop, you're out of scope.
SmileFrame runs in the browser on any device. Nothing to install, no per-device licensing, and the assistant's phone works as well as the doctor's iPad.
One thing Dentrino does that SmileFrame doesn't yet: Kiosk Mode for unsupervised tablet stands, so patients can self-simulate in the waiting room. If waiting-room self-service is central to your plan, that's a real point in their favor today.
Patient Photos and HIPAA
Dentrino states that patient photos are stored on secure, encrypted cloud servers in the US, and that they don't sell or share data with third parties. Their site doesn't describe a Business Associate Agreement process — if you evaluate them, ask directly whether they'll sign a BAA before you upload a patient photo.
SmileFrame requires every practice to sign a BAA at signup, and patient photos are deleted automatically after 7 days. Retention isn't a setting you have to remember to configure.

If you run a high-volume, iOS-based operation — especially whitening-heavy, with a waiting-room kiosk — Dentrino Reveal's $100/month quota can be the cheaper tool. If your cosmetic consultation volume is variable, you want video, you have non-Apple devices in the operatory, or you want HIPAA handled by default, SmileFrame costs less and asks for no commitment.
